The Search Engines Pros
Hi, I'm Dave Myers, a web designer and developer working in sunny Santa Barbara, California, making websites for Ameravant. I started designing websites a decade and a half ago, and I use that experience to create sites that focus on ease-of-use for the end-user and painless administration by the client. While at Ameravant, I've worked with a wide range of clients, including technology companies, mobile consultants, non-profit organizations, and multimedia sites.
Over the past couple of years, my focus has become primarily leading development and UX on SiteNinja.
Experience
Before arriving at Ameravant, I worked a number of design-oriented jobs. While I had been designing websites as a hobby for a few years prior, my professional experience started at Perilith Industrielle in '99, where I worked as the Lead Texture Artist on a project called Unrealty. I worked as the Web Designer/Administrator at Capo Beach Calvary for a few years, and then freelanced for various clients as a web designer. In 2005 and 2006, I worked as a web and print designer for the professional medical imaging company Ampronix.
Education
I graduated cum laude from Laguna College of Art and Design with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration.
Miscellaneous Tidbits
As a kid, I spent all of my time doodling and drawing comic books. When my family finally got a computer in Summer of '94, I found myself so fascinated by the new toy that I was determined to take my doodling and transfer it to the digital medium. By Spring of '96, I was proudly presenting artwork on my very own website (hosted by the legendary Geocities, designed in the amazing Netscape Navigator Gold). My artistic inclination and gadget obsession lead me to the point where I am today.
